                  I am glad to share that Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University is providing all Audio-Visual content which has been produced by Audio Visual Production and Research Centre (AVPRC) to the distance learners through this website. Audio-Visual education is a complimentary instruction in addition to the Course Materials. Audio and Visual presentation is more focussed on the material with the goal of improving comprehension and retention. According to the Webster dictionary, audio-visual aid is defined as training or educational materials directed at both the senses of hearing and the sense of sight, films, recordings, photographs, etc. used in classroom intructions, library collections or the likes. AVPRC aims to attract and sustain learners; attention and to generate interest across different levels of distance learners.Accordingly, University arrange multiple windows to understand the syllabus oriented lessons in an easy way.       Our mission at Audio Visual Production & Research Centre of the University is to generate, disseminate & preserve knowledge and to prepare the next generation of Professionals by providing diverse learning environments.

     In order to capitalize on the opportunity of the instructional methodology, the basic philosophy of Distance Education, the University has been utilizing the electronic media extensively since its inception. Audio Visual Production and Research Centre (AVPRC) is the major e-resource centre of the University which produces and transmits the Audio visual content through All India Radio, Doordarshan and other satellite channels.

    The Audio Visual Production and Research Centre (AVPRC) was established in 1985 as a part of the Material Production Directorate. The Centre became a separate directorate in 1993. This Centre has been successfully organising a series of Radio and Tele-Lessons for the benefit of the learners of the University.

Objectives:

  • To reach the unreached via educational audio and video programmes.

  • To organize transmission of educational programmes.

  • To upgrade, update and enrich the quality of education through electronic media.

  • To undertake research in application of educational technology in distance education.

  •      Syllabus oriented effective programme production of the centre is being done with the contribution of intellectual inputs from the Internal and External faculty members. Apart from curriculum based programme production the centre also documents all the University programmes like Seminars, Conferences, Memorial lectures etc.,
